Let’s go into my secret garden…

Do you remember that book and movie “The Secret Garden”? I’ll never forget watching it for the first time and how enchanted it was to go into an unknown garden. From that time on, I’ve been fascinated by large gardens; it had such a profound effect on me. Gardens can represent our inner thoughts and soul. How often do we allow others to come into our sacred garden? Everybody? A few? Or only a few every 10 years? All of us have gardens, so to speak, and each one of us are readily working on them. Some abandon their once glorious gardens until someone decides to come along and nurture what was once so fertile. Others, maintain their gardens everyday and year without much effort. For me, my garden is very rich and full of love, butterflies and imagination. For me, my doors to my garden are heavily guarded by gates of trust. It’s not often I let others come into my sacred world, but when I do, they are the most incredible people I have ever met. These people are the ones who tell me everythings going to be ok when I have a bad day, or its ok to cry once in a while and not have to feel like superwoman everyday…or the ones who make me laugh with their funny stories. I love to laugh! I need to laugh. Times are hard for everyone and people need their spirits lifted. They make my garden so much more beautiful and richer. It feels incredible, there are no other words to describe it.

Thank you to all the bloggers I nominated who commented. Your gratitude shows immense character to me. People who say thank you are so humble and sweet in a world that is always so busy and thoughtless.

The picture above is of my mom’s archway that she lit up with lights towards the side of her house. I thought it looked so magical and cute when I went to visit her. The right of the picture (you can’t see it), she does have a garden and two white pillars.

These thoughts I just had to share with you.

  1. Another wonderful picture. You really have you own vision and it so clearly comes through. In a way it has a lot in common with the pre-previous posting (the Morning fog), but at the same time so different. I like the way you impose a cast on the picture, I like the blurry feeling. The picture very present and very strong. Great work.

    1. Thank you. I think photographers understand my pictures the best. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my own photos and I was disappointed that this picture came out blurry. For some reason, my camera was not focusing on this archway and I was holding still too. I always like my photos to be extremely focused, but this one wasn’t. I decided to post it anyways because I was after the “feeling of the mood” more than the clarity of the picture. I figured, if I made it a bit more “crosscolored” it would have that whimsical effect I wanted. I believe you got that by looking at it and I’m very happy you like it. I’ll let this one photo slide, but my future photos will be more focused like my past photos. Lol. :p

    1. Thank you! I was looking at your photos too and admire how you capture animals and nature in black and white. I’m still brushing up my skills in how to do that and still make my photos captivating. The little duck swimming as fast as he can and the fox with the Puss in Boots eyes really are cute! Thanks for the comment!

    1. Gracias Chris! This was more of a (metaphoric) blog of my recent happiness in meeting very cool bloggers who I can identify with. It’s people like yourself who make my life so much richer in understanding this great big world of ours. Wouldn’t it be easier and more suitable for all of us, if we just took time to get to know each other’s cultures and appreciate it? Thinking outside the box….. 🙂

    1. Thanks Delightful! I always read your blogs first thing in the morning! I know you’ll always have something funny to write about! I’ll stop by soon to comment on your recent blog about your “mean kitty”. My mom’s new kitten is crazy too and runs marathons around the house for no apparent reason….but once she settles down and gives you those Puss in Boots eyes, she looks all innocent! Lmao!
